Job summary

Weightmans is recruiting a Paralegal to join the Police team across Leicester, Liverpool or Manchester. The role supports senior case handlers with case management, legal research, witness statements, and client reports, with opportunities to attend meetings and hearings.

You will assist with the instruction of Counsel and experts, respond to client enquiries, and help achieve financial targets while supporting business development initiatives. A Police Vetting process will be required.

Qualifications

• Previous Paralegal experience in a police-focused environment is preferred.
• Demonstrable interest in police claims work and flexible approach.
• Ability to work to strict deadlines and targets.

Responsibilities

• Assist fee earners with case management, legal research and witness statement drafting.
• Attend client meetings and court hearings to support fee earners.
• Assist with instruction of Counsel and experts.
• Respond to correspondence and enquiries promptly and accurately, with supervision or independently.
• Help achieve financial and chargeable targets and support business development.
