Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Point of Care Testing Coordinator to lead a small team supporting Point of Care Testing across all sites of University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust.

Position Overview

This role involves leading a dedicated team providing POCT support across various clinical areas within the Trust. The successful candidate must be flexible and willing to travel between sites as required.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Work closely with suppliers, managers, and staff at all levels across the Trust.
  2. Maintain knowledge of ISO standards and UKAS accreditation.
  3. Support continuous development and quality improvement initiatives.
  4. Develop skills in all aspects of POCT to support career growth.
  5. Manage workload effectively to meet KPIs and deliver reports timely.
Candidate Requirements
  • HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist with a keen interest in POCT.
  • Experience in team leadership and training skills.
  • Excellent communication and IT skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work autonomously.
Additional Information

Supported by a Consultant Clinical Scientist and Technical Services Manager, the role offers autonomy in daily tasks. The POCT service is managed via a contract with Radiometer, utilizing various analysers for clinical testing.

The Trust operates from three main hospitals: Furness General Hospital, Royal Lancaster Infirmary, and Westmorland General Hospital, along with community healthcare facilities.
