To ensure the continued quality of care, we are seeking a Podiatrist to join our team, working 6 hours a month at HMP Drake Hall and 8 hours a month at HMP Stafford. There is no on-call or weekend work, supporting a strong work-life balance.
You will be part of a forward-thinking, innovative healthcare team, including GPs, nurses, pharmacists, physiotherapists, and mental health professionals, delivering high-quality, best-practice treatment. You will also be part of the wider MSK Health in Justice Team, comprising physiotherapists and podiatrists working across 58 prisons nationwide. You will receive close support and mentorship from our Team Lead Podiatrist, along with access to appraisal systems, in-service training, and funding for external clinical courses, providing an excellent learning environment.
This role involves advanced assessment and treatment of patients within the offender healthcare setting, who may present with complex and/or chronic conditions. You will determine clinical diagnoses and treatments, maintaining records as an autonomous practitioner.
Qualifications required include HCPC registration and post-registration experience assessing and treating conditions such as diabetic foot issues, wound management, MSK pathologies, and nail surgery. You should be self-motivated with excellent communication and organizational skills.
