Job Role: Podiatrist
Salary / Pay: £28.00-£32.00 per hour DOE for Initial 3-Month Locum | 55% of Treatment Fees as Self-Employed Associate Thereafter
Job Type: Part-Time | Initial 3-Month Locum → Self-Employed Associate
Location: Sale, Greater Manchester
Start Date: ASAP
Please note, candidates must have a permanent, unrestricted right to work in the UK to be considered for this position. We are unable to consider applicants whose right to work is time-limited.
We really like the structure of this one because you're not being asked to jump straight into an associate position with a clinic you've never actually worked in.
You'll initially join for three months as a locum. That gives you the opportunity to get to know the clinic, patients and wider team and, importantly, gives both sides the chance to make sure it's the right long-term fit.
If everyone's happy, the intention is then for you to stay as a self-employed associate receiving 55% of your treatment fees.
And they're transparent about what that currently means.
Clinic fees are £60 for a new patient and £45 for a follow-up, so at the current 55% associate split you'd receive £33 per new patient and £24.75 per follow-up. Local home visits are charged at £60 for both new and follow-up appointments, giving you £33 per visit at the current split.
You’ll also be joining an experienced Podiatrist rather than being expected to build a Podiatry service completely on your own, with a wider multidisciplinary team around you too.
For someone who wants a part-time private Podiatry role with the potential to develop into something longer term, it’s a nice way for both sides to test the waters first.
We're looking for a Podiatrist who's confident delivering high-quality routine Podiatry and general foot care.
Our client is happy to consider a confident Podiatrist with strong core clinical skills, the right attitude and the ability to independently manage a routine caseload.
This isn't a specialist MSK or high-risk Podiatry position. They're looking for somebody who's really good at providing quality routine Podiatry and looking after their patients.
Your caseload will predominantly focus on routine Podiatry and general foot care.
You'll:
Biomechanical assessments are currently supported by other clinicians within the wider team, so specialist MSK or biomechanics experience isn't essential for this position.
There's also the option to undertake local home visits if that's something you'd enjoy, although these aren't a requirement of the core clinic-based role.
The initial requirement is approximately:
There's also potential for Tuesday sessions to be added as the role and caseload develop.
Following the initial three-month locum period, the intention is to move into a longer-term self-employed associate arrangement, subject to both you and our client being happy to continue.
You’ll work within an established multidisciplinary clinic alongside an experienced Podiatrist and a wider team of around 11 clinicians, with management, front-of-house and administrative support around you.
Our client has been established since 2007 and has developed a multidisciplinary approach to patient care.
You’ll be joining an existing experienced Podiatrist rather than being expected to build the service completely alone, giving you access to someone within your own profession alongside support from the wider clinical and management team.
There's also scope to help develop the Podiatry service further. Our client is investing in an autoclave and is open to further investment in equipment as the service and caseload grow.
They’re not looking for someone who needs every gadget and gizmo under the sun. They’re much more interested in finding a Podiatrist with good clinical foundations, the right attitude and a genuine focus on their patients.
For the right person, this isn’t intended to be a three-month stopgap. The locum period gives both sides the opportunity to establish whether it’s the right long-term fit before moving into an associate relationship, with potential to increase your clinical sessions as the service develops.
