Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement care plans using a variety of treatment modalities.
  • Signpost to health care and self-management advice; safety netting feet at high risk.
  • Coordinate with other services and work within a supportive team in community clinics and home settings.
  • Plan and manage your own caseload, with oversight from senior colleagues for specialist care.

Job description

We are looking for podiatrists with a keen interest in NHS health care where prevention and self help strategies is key to foot health and general health and wellbeing. If you are interested in working in a supportive team environment, developing life long skills in the management of a diverse caseload where patients have high risk health conditions, we would like to hear from you. You need to show resilience, initiative and an aptitude for patient-centred, structured care planning with empathetic communication skills, including reviewing of caseload and discharging patients., This is not an exhaustive list, please refer to job description. Undertake comprehensive assessments of patients; goal setting with your patients; implement care plans including utilizing a variety of treatment modalities; signposting to health care and self-management advice; safety netting patients with feet at high risk; correspond with other services; work as part of a supportive team. This post requires a podiatrist who will work as part of the team providing a high standard of clinical care in community clinic and home settings. The post holder will be expected to assess, diagnose, develop and implement individualized programs of care for patients with a wide variety of clinical needs. The post holder will also be expected to plan and manage their own caseload and work closely with senior colleagues in providing specialist care for patients with high foot risk.

A DBS check is a background check that reveals any criminal convictions, cautions, reprimands, or warnings. The level of check required depends on the role.

This is a development post (band 5 to band 6) and would suit podiatrists already working in the NHS at band 5 level and a minimum of 12 month post graduate experience working as a podiatrist.
