Job description

Central London Community Heath NHS Trust has recently become responsible for delivering Harrow Adult and Children's Community services.

It is an exciting time to join our teams in Harrow and we are seeking enthusiastic and skilled colleagues to join us as we build on existing models of care and introduce new ways of working. Our transformation plans continue to include further integration with primary care, planned and unplanned care models, and a greater emphasis on population health. We are expanding the existing workforce by recruiting to the current service portfolio, with the support and leadership of a forward thinking Senior Management Team.

In this role you will be at the forefront of delivering new models of care through transformation that meets the needs of our community and will be able to contribute to the creation of what that looks like as well as positively impacting and enhancing the experiences of our patients in Harrow.

Main duties of the job

You will provide day-to-day clinical care in a supported environment and within a dynamic team. Providing day-to-day professional leadership, you will ensure the needs of patients are placed at the centre of care delivery while providing assurance that standards of clinical care within a designated area is of the highest standard attainable.

You will need to demonstrate empathy and compassionate leadership skills alongside excellent interpersonal skills with a strong ability to teach and inspire colleagues through active demonstration of clinical practice and leadership. At the same time be willing to learn and develop within this Band 6 role.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has the drive to deliver the above within a well-established Clinical Services Unit that has good relationships with the local CCG, PCNs, Local authority and Local acute Trust. This is also an opportunity for new graduates to join the team wherein they will be offered a developmental position [Band 5] and preceptor supported to attain the Band 6 level demonstrating competence to fulfil the duties of the role.

Education/Qualification
  • BSc Degree In Podiatric Medicine or Diploma (if qualified prior 1991)
  • Evidence of continual professional and personal development
  • Registration with the Health Professions Council
  • Certificate in local anaesthesia
  • Evidence of post grad training in specialist area of podiatry
Experience
  • Post graduate clinical experience of multidisciplinary and interagency working
  • Experience of working with a wide range of patient and disease / pathology types including the at-risk and high-risk foot
  • Experience of working as part of a specialist team (clinical rotation experience accepted
  • Experience of working in an NHS environment
  • Experience of clinical supervision / mentoring
  • oExperience of service development
Skills and Knowledge
  • Knowledge of recent developments in the profession
  • Full knowledge of podiatric theory and practice
  • Knowledge of foot orthotic design and manufacture
