CDDFTPodiatry Department are looking for 2 enthusiastic and committed Podiatrists tojoin our diverse team, which covers 6 localities. The positions are suitablefor both experienced and newly qualified applicants. The successful candidateswould have the opportunity to complete work based competencies specific to thejob and will be assigned a dedicated mentor. The successful applicants would bebased in one of our multi chair clinics across County Durham and Darlington.This post would be based in Sedgefield locality.

Main duties of the job

Work asa qualified clinician across the three core teams with the main emphasis beingon:

GeneralPodiatry

SpecialisedPodiatry Services

Observeand promote the Trusts values and behaviours

Providespodiatric advice to patients and carers

Assessesand treats patients within the team caseload which includes adults andpaediatrics, self-referrals from patients and referrals from other disciplines

Participatein the training of junior / less experienced staff and students

Participatein service transformation activity with a view to continuous serviceimprovement and value for money

We provide hospital services from two acute sites - Darlington Memorial Hospital and University Hospital of North Durham. We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield and Weardale as well as over 80 other community based settings and providing care in patients' homes.

Job responsibilities

To be responsible for the assessment, diagnosis, planning,implementation and evaluation of podiatric care for patients within a teamcaseload

To provide appropriate podiatric health education topatients and carers

To ensure that all interventions are designed using, wherepossible, evidence based practice and to evaluate outcomes

To work across acute, community and primary health caresectors as part of a multidisciplinary team with direct input to patient careproviding advice to patients and carers

To be responsible for the maintenance of theirown documentation for patient records, reports and audits.

  • Under graduate experience of a broad range of podiatric conditions
