Job Description:

This Biomedical Science position is suitable for an experienced POCT Associate Practitioner. The role is based in Derry and involves working on a locum basis with a pay of £15 - £16 per hour.

Beneficial criteria to help be successful in this BMS role include the following:

• Medical Laboratory Assistant experience
• Specimen Reception
• Labelling samples
• Degree in Biomedical Science or similar
• Right to Work in the UK (we are unable to provide sponsorship)

The main responsibilities include:

• Providing comprehensive support to the POCT team and service users for POCT devices.
• Training nursing, medical, and laboratory staff in the use of all POCT devices, ensuring compliance with the Trust’s POCT policy and procedures.
• Ensuring the safe, reliable, and continuous functioning of all POCT equipment through regular maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Maintaining data logs, registers, SOPs, maintenance records, and training documentation.
• Distributing external quality assurance samples, assisting in data collation, and reporting EQA results.
• Participating in quality management activities, including departmental and ward audits.

Details:

• Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
• Initial 3-month contract
• Monday to Friday, 9:00 - 17:30
