Job summary

NHS Forth Valley in Larbert is seeking a User Support Officer to join the Patient Management System (PMS) team. You will support the PMS Manager in implementation, ongoing management and development of the PMS, providing system, user and training support across services.

The role requires an ICT/Healthcare qualification at least to HNC level (or demonstrable experience), the ability to work flexibly, excellent communication, and a Level 2 Disclosure Scotland check.

Qualifications

  • Minimum education to HNC level or equivalent in ICT/Healthcare, or demonstrable system delivery experience.
  • Experience in NHS or Public Sector environment desirable.
  • Ability to complete a Level 2 Disclosure Scotland check.

Fixed Term or Secondment Opportunity* for 2 years to cover substantive post holders secondment leave.

An opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated, enthusiastic person to join the Patient Management System support team to fill the role of User Support Officer.

The successful candidate will support the Patient Management System (PMS) Manager in the implementation and ongoing management and development of the PMS that provides patient information required for the management of clinical services and provision of local/national statutory requirements, such as Scottish Morbidity Records (SMR) submission and Information Services Division (ISD) 1 reports, information and statistics and support of the local and national waiting times agenda.

As a key member of the TrakCare Support Team, you will provide system, user and training support to services throughout the organisation supporting the PMS system being used to its fullest extent to meet the needs of the organisation, alongside providing clinical system support to the System Manager and participate in projects for the ongoing development of the system and associated interfaces to other clinical systems.

You will have the opportunity to contribute towards the ongoing operational development of the system support model and have awareness of the role of technology in health and care settings.

The post holder will require to work flexibly in the support team environment, ensuring delegated tasks and projects are completed within the relevant timescales and to the required standards.

Work with internal and external staff acting as a vital link to provide the system support and co-ordinate updates and system changes in line with governance requirements, ensuring that these are adhered to.

You will be able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and communication qualities, with the ability to negotiate with and influence others.

You will be educated at a minimum to HNC level or equivalent in an ICT/Healthcare-related subject or be able to demonstrate relevant experience in the delivery of system-based solutions and training in an NHS or Public Sector environment.

The duties of this post require the successful candidate to complete a Level 2 Disclosure Scotland check.

The post will be based at the Forth Valley Royal Hospital in Larbert.
