Reporting to the Group Programme Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring the effective operation of the Group PMO function. You will be responsible for ensuring adherence to PMO processes across all programmes and projects, maintaining high standards of reporting, governance, and delivery support, and managing the PMO team. Your role is high profile in the group with extensive senior stakeholder engagement required.

Key Duties

  1. Lead, manage, and develop the PMO team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  2. Provide feedback and coaching to project teams based on audit findings.
  3. Ensure timely and accurate updates are completed by project teams and are ready for review by senior stakeholders.
  4. Conduct project assurance walkthroughs with key stakeholders and SMEs from the group.
  5. Continuously improve and refine PMO processes in collaboration with the Governance Team.
  6. Ensure all projects and programmes across the group adhere to established PMO frameworks, standards, and governance processes.
  7. Act as the first point of contact for project teams requiring guidance on PMO procedures.
  8. Oversee the preparation and quality assurance of programme dashboards, status reports, and executive summaries.
  9. Maintain a centralised view of programme health, risks, and dependencies.
  10. Support the implementation of new tools, templates, and systems to enhance PMO efficiency.
  11. Monitor and manage the PMO’s service delivery performance, ensuring responsiveness and consistency.
  12. Identify gaps, risks, and improvement opportunities through structured reviews.
  13. Lead and coordinate project audits in collaboration with the PMO Administrator, ensuring compliance with governance standards.
  14. Ensure appropriate cross-training, skills development, and succession planning.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a PMO or project delivery environment, ideally within a large or complex organisation (e.g., 3PL).
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with experience managing teams.
  • Excellent understanding of project and programme governance frameworks.
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • High attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality visual and written updates.
  • Skilled in stakeholder engagement and communication across all levels.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and reporting platforms (e.g., MS Project, Power BI, SharePoint).
