PMO Lead - Contract Opportunity

Overview:

Chapman Tate is supporting a high-profile client who is seeking a PMO Lead for an exciting new 6-month contract. You'll be stepping into a PMO lead role with full responsibility for managing and improving portfolio-level PMO capabilities. This is not a delivery project PMO - we're looking for someone who has driven PMO improvement and maturity at the portfolio level, with a proven ability to shape and lead best practice across complex change environments.

Essential Experience:
  • Must have demonstrated the ability to lead and embed PMO improvement initiatives across a portfolio
  • Proven experience in a PMO leadership role, ideally at portfolio level
  • Experience in the financial services sector, with preference for individuals who have supported building societies.
  • Strong background in developing and implementing PMO standards, guidance, templates, and toolsets
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence at senior levels
  • A consultative mindset, able to work independently while building trust and alignment with key business areas
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the ongoing development, standardisation, and optimisation of PMO frameworks, including processes, templates, and toolkits
  • Provide strategic oversight and ensure alignment across a diverse portfolio of programmes
  • Work closely with senior stakeholders to agree priorities, establish delivery plans, and ensure execution aligns with business objectives
  • Offer consultative support, bringing a blend of delivery knowledge and advisory capability
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the PMO function, working alongside a strong PMO Analyst who supports execution
  • Champion reporting standards, governance, and portfolio health checks to enable informed decision-making
