About this role

We have an exciting opportunity for a PMO Lead to join our UK Strategic Programmes team. This role is crucial in evolving our PMO function from foundational processes to a best-in-class capability. You’ll oversee a portfolio of multi-million-pound strategic programmes, ensuring effective governance, reporting, and capacity planning.

Working closely with Programme Managers, Change Managers, and Senior Leadership, you’ll drive the PMO strategy, embed robust processes, and continuously improve ways of working. This isn’t just about governance—it’s about delivering real impact. If you excel in agile environments and balance structure with flexibility, this role is for you.

Location: Hybrid- 3 days a week from our London office & 2 days working from home

Reporting to: Head of Programme Delivery (UK)

These are some of the key ingredients to the role:

• Establish & Enhance PMO Governance: Develop and refine frameworks, processes, and governance structures to ensure consistent programme delivery.
• Drive PMO Strategy: Define and execute a long-term vision, evolving the PMO function to align with business goals.
• Manage Strategic Portfolio: Oversee key programmes, ensuring alignment with priorities and maintaining high-quality artefacts like RAID logs and dashboards.
• Ensure Strategic Planning & Alignment: Lead planning cycles, resource allocation, and benefits realisation to support business objectives.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with cross-functional teams and influence senior stakeholders for programme success.
• Reporting & Communication: Provide clear visibility into programme performance through high-quality reports and senior leadership updates.
• Lead Continuous Improvement: Enhance PMO tools, processes, and efficiencies, driving a transition to best-in-class standards.
• Team Leadership & Development: Mentor Programme Managers, fostering growth and capability within the team.

What will you bring to the table?

• Proven PMO Leadership Experience: Strong background in PMO leadership or programme management, focusing on value-driven outcomes.
• Good knowledge of PMO principles, tools, and best practices.
• Strong Stakeholder Influence: Ability to engage and influence senior leaders, ensuring strategic programme success.
• Excellent Organisational & Analytical Skills: Skilled in managing multiple priorities, problem-solving, and delivering high-quality outputs.
• Proficiency in PM & Collaboration Tools: Experience using tools like Jira, Google Suite, Slack, and PM platforms (e.g., Monday.com, Asana).
• People Leadership & Coaching: Passion for mentoring, fostering team growth, and developing future programme leaders.
