PMLD Teaching Assistant Gainsborough
Location: Gainsborough, Lincolnshire
Salary: £85 £95 per day
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Full-time, Term-time only

GSL Education are currently recruiting for a compassionate and dedicated PMLD Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and inclusive SEND school in Gainsborough. This full-time role is ideal for someone with experience or a genuine passion for supporting children and young people with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide tailored support to students with complex needs, including personal care where required

  • Work alongside class teachers and other support staff to deliver engaging and accessible lessons

  • Support with sensory and therapeutic activities to enhance learning

  • Foster a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment

  • Monitor and record students' progress in line with EHCP targets

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
  • Experience working with children or young people with SEND, particularly PMLD

  • A calm, patient, and empathetic nature

  • Understanding of or willingness to learn Makaton, PECS, or other communication methods

  • A valid Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service, or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education

  • The ability to work as part of a committed and friendly team
