The school has a hydrotherapy pool and ceiling hoists for students who need assistance.

As a PMLD Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering a tailored curriculum to students with complex learning needs, the majority (80%) of whom have significantly reduced mobility or are unable to work. Key Responsibilities of PMLD Teacher:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, multi-sensory lessons suited to students with PMLD.
  • Implement individualised learning plans (EHCPs) to support student progress.
  • Work closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and other professionals to provide a holistic approach to learning.
  • Utilise specialist facilities, including a hydrotherapy pool and ceiling hoists, to aid students’ mobility and physical development.
  • Foster communication and interaction using assistive technologies, PECS, Makaton, or other relevant methods.
  • Provide pastoral care and emotional support, ensuring a safe and positive learning environment.
  • Engage with families and carers, maintaining strong relationships to support student progress.
  • Maintain accurate records and assessments, ensuring compliance with school policies and SEND best practices.
