Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD)? GSL Education is currently recruiting a dedicated and compassionate PMLD Support Assistant to work full-time in an all-age Special Educational Needs (SEN) school in Gainsborough, Lincolnshire.

This specialist school supports pupils with a wide range of profound and complex needs, including physical disabilities, sensory impairments, and severe learning difficulties. As a member of the support team, you’ll play a key role in delivering individualised care and education plans, helping pupils thrive in a safe and nurturing environment.

The Role:

Supporting pupils with PMLD across a range of ages, from early years to post-16

Assisting with personal care, feeding, mobility, and therapy programmes

Working closely with class teachers and therapy teams to implement individual learning and care plans

Encouraging communication through sensory play, assistive technology, and non-verbal methods

Ensuring a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment

Ideal Candidate:

Has experience supporting children or young adults with PMLD or complex needs

Is comfortable with personal care and manual handling (training can be provided)

Demonstrates patience, empathy, and a proactive attitude

Holds a valid Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the update service or is willing to apply for one through GSL Education

Can commit to a full-time role, Monday to Friday, term-time only
