Are You an Experienced PMLD Learning Support Assistant in Dunstable Looking for a New Opportunity in the education and training sector?

We are excited to announce an excellent opportunity for a dedicated and compassionate PMLD Learning Support Assistant to join a highly supportive team at a leading SEN school in Dunstable.   • Proven experience working with students with PMLD in an educational setting.

  • Familiarity with communication tools such as Makaton, PECS, or similar (desirable).
  • A solid understanding of the SEN Code of Practice and safeguarding guidelines.
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning or an equivalent SEN-related qualification).

Job Title: Experienced PMLD Learning Support Assistant

Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Weekly Salary: £460 - £500

As a PMLD Learning Support Assistant, You Will:

  • Provide individualized support to students with PMLD, both one-on-one and in small groups, to help foster their independence and personal growth.
  • Work closely with teachers and other professionals to create and implement tailored education plans (IEPs) that meet the specific needs of each student.
  • Assist with personal care tasks such as feeding, mobility, and hygiene, ensuring that students feel safe, comfortable, and dignified.
  • Promote a positive, inclusive learning environment that encourages student engagement, confidence, and progress.
  • Collaborate with the SEN team to monitor and adapt teaching strategies to best support each student's learning journey.
  • Utilize specialized equipment to ensure accessibility and enhance the students' learning experience.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with parents, carers, and external professionals to provide holistic support for students.
