Job Title: PMLD/ASC Teaching Assistant - Specialist SEN School
Location: Greenwich, London
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM
Job Type: Full-time, Term-Time Only
Salary: £100 - £120 per day depending on experience

Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant with a strong background in supporting students with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD) and autism spectrum condition (ASC)?

A leading specialist SEN school in Greenwich is seeking a skilled and committed Teaching Assistant to join their expert team. This role is based in a highly specialised unit, supporting pupils with complex needs in a safe, structured, and nurturing environment.

The Role:

Work closely with teachers and therapists to support pupils with PMLD/ASC

Provide personalised assistance with learning tasks, communication, and sensory needs

Support students with personal care and physical needs as required

Foster a calm, positive learning environment that encourages independence and engagement

Use specialist communication systems such as PECS, Makaton, or AAC (desirable but not essential)

What We're Looking For:

Proven experience supporting children or young people with complex SEN, especially PMLD and ASC

A calm, caring, and resilient nature with strong behaviour management skills

Ability to work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team

A valid Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)

Immediate availability or availability to start this term preferred
