Job summary

Edwards Vacuum is seeking a Test Engineer in Clevedon to join Pertemps’ team on a temporary ongoing basis. You will test and validate advanced vacuum systems, diagnose faults, analyse data, and ensure product quality before delivery.

You will work closely with engineering, manufacturing and production teams to support new product introduction and continuous improvement. The role requires reading engineering drawings, fault finding, and a strong focus on quality and safety.

Qualifications

• Experience in an engineering test, manufacturing or production environment.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
• Experience with fault finding and problem solving.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to analyse technical information and test results.
• Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Testing and engineering duties: carry out functional and performance testing of vacuum systems and assemblies.
• Set up and operate test equipment, instrumentation and measurement systems.
• Perform fault finding and diagnose mechanical, electrical, and system issues.
• Interpret drawings, specifications and documentation; record, analyse and report test results.
• Complete test procedures and documentation per company standards; support product validation and QA.
• Identify root causes and assist with corrective actions; support test method improvements.
