Job summary

Sofidel SpA in Baglan, Wales, is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead packaging and paper production, ensuring safety, quality and efficiency in line with ISO 9001 and corporate policies. You will drive continuous improvement, coordinate with planning and maintenance, and develop staff while promoting a culture of safety and quality on site in the UK.

Experience in packaging or paper manufacturing.
Proven track record in managing employees in a manufacturing environment.
Experience liaising with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Achieve safety, quality and efficiency targets in line with ISO 9001 and Group policies.
Manage production personnel, including shift rotation.
Organise technical training and assess development levels.
Collaborate with Production Planning, suggesting corrective actions.
Ensure products comply with technical specifications.
Update technical specifications with Product Office and flag anomalies.
Assist in new product development, including feasibility checks and tests.
Assess auxiliary raw materials and oversee industrial testing.
Promote continuous improvement of processes through innovative solutions.
Collaborate with Maintenance to ensure correct line functioning.
Supervise safety compliance and contribute to a safety culture.
Support creation of new products and growth of the team.

PURPOSE

To ensure the achievement of safety, quality and efficiency aims related to production in accordance with the Group’s policies.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for the achievement of envisaged aims, by operating in compliance with safety, environmental and product safety provisions, ISO 9001 Quality System, and Group’s policies.
Manage the production personnel, including shift rotation.
Organise the personnel’s technical training and assess their acquisition level.
Collaborate with the Production Planning Office, suggesting possible corrective actions.
Ensure that the product is compliant with the assigned technical specifications.
Collaborate with the Product Office to permanently update technical specifications, signalling anomalies and suggesting alterations for ongoing improvement.
Participate in the development of new products, checking their technical feasibility and, if necessary, managing technical tests and sampling.
Participate in the assessment of auxiliary raw materials by organising and following their industrial tests.
Promote permanent improvement aimed at optimising productive processes through innovative solutions.
Collaborate with Maintenance to guarantee the correct functioning of productive lines.
Supervise compliance with safety provisions.
Contribute to the creation of new products.
Responsible for the collaborators’ professional growth, valuation and motivation.
