A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF

I am a 14-year-old girl living in Rhydyfelin with my family. I have a dog, cat, and tortoise. I enjoy sensory play, swimming, painting, and making a mess. I am laid back, cheeky, and have a wicked sense of humor. I am clever and communicate through eye contact. I have Rett syndrome, a rare genetic disorder affecting brain development, leading to mental and physical disabilities. I like watching YouTube; my favorites are Jake and the Neverland Pirates and Squiglet. I have scoliosis and am awaiting surgery.

I am non-verbal and only cry when hungry or thirsty, so I need assistance with eating and drinking. I am on seizure medication, which keeps my seizures controlled; I haven't had one recently.

Once you get to know me, you'll love my mischievous personality. I can stand unaided but cannot walk, and I use a wheelchair.

To help me gain confidence and independence while supporting my interests and providing respite for my parents.

Rate of Pay

£12.75 per hour. Mileage and expenses will be reimbursed where applicable.

Tasks Involved

• Swimming and participating with me
• Going to the park
• Going to the cinema
• Visiting places with animals, like Amelia Trust Farm
• Helping me eat and go out for food
• Personal care (nappies)
• Assisting with feeding, as I eat slowly
