Plumbing Supervisor (Mechanical)

Location: HMP Winchester, Romsey Rd, Winchester SO22 5DF

Salary: £45,303.07 per annum + potential £1,500 per annum location bonus
(Paid on-call & overtime also available)

Contract: Full time, 39 hours per week, permanent, Monday to Friday

HMP Winchester operates like a self-contained city, requiring hundreds of staff to ensure its smooth functioning. Our Facilities Maintenance Team is dedicated to the safe operation of the prison, impacting prisoners, staff, visitors, and the wider community.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and work alongside experienced colleagues including Plumbers, Electricians, Carpenters, Painters, Cleaners, and Administrators.
  • Lead and supervise plumbing and mechanical maintenance activities.
  • Ensure compliance with Water Supply Regulations and Legionella control (L8).
  • Maintain high health and safety standards.
  • Plan and manage projects related to plumbing and mechanical systems.
Qualifications and Experience
  • C&G 6189 Plumbing and domestic heating or equivalent qualifications.
  • Minimum of five years' experience, preferably within FM, secure environments, military, or healthcare sectors.
  • Experience with commercial or industrial heating, water, or building service systems.
  • Knowledge of risk, compliance, and safety regulations.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and people skills.
