Job summary

TeacherActive is working with a Further Education setting in Northampton that is seeking a Lecturer - Plumbing & Heating on a full-time, permanent basis from October 2026.

The successful lecturer will teach and support full-time, part-time and short-course students, contribute to curriculum development, deliver practical activities and demonstrations, monitor learner progress and attendance, and support quality assurance processes.

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualification or above within Plumbing & Heating.
• Diploma in Teaching and Learning / Certificate in Education or equivalent, or willingness to work towards this.
• GCSE Maths and English Language at Grade C or above, or equivalent.
• Experience working within the construction industry.
• Ability to motivate students and deliver high-quality inclusive learning experiences.
• Excellent communication, organisation and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Teach and support full-time, part-time and short-course students.
• Contribute to curriculum development and delivery of practical activities and demonstrations.

Salary: £36,000 - £45,000 per annum, dependent on experience and qualifications

The successful Lecturer - Plumbing & Heating will have:

• An appropriate professional qualification at Level 3 or above
• A Diploma in Teaching and Learning / Certificate in Education or equivalent, or willingness to work towards this
• GCSE Maths and English Language at Grade C or above, or equivalent
• Experience working within the construction industry
• The ability to motivate students and deliver high-quality, inclusive learning experiences
• Excellent communication, organisation and time management skills
