Dovetail & Slate is seeking an experienced Plumbing Lecturer to join a dedicated team in the South West. This permanent post offers the chance to teach practical and theoretical plumbing, drawing on real industry experience to develop learners’ skills and confidence.

You will plan, deliver, assess and adapt sessions across workshop and classroom settings, supporting English and maths alongside trade skills. A strong focus on safeguarding and inclusion underpins all activity.

Qualifications

• Relevant industry experience as a plumber or in a related field
• NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing and Heating, or an equivalent qualification
• Willingness to complete Equality & Diversity and Safeguarding training as part of the role

Salary: Up to £43,000 per annum (depending on experience), plus a £4,000 scarce skills joining bonus

Are you an experienced plumbing professional ready to inspire and equip the next generation of tradespeople?

About the Role

You will plan and deliver engaging, high-quality teaching and assessment in both workshop and classroom settings, drawing on your industry background to help learners build the practical skills and confidence they need. Working as part of a supportive team, you'll help students meet targets for attendance, progress and achievement, giving clear feedback and supporting their development in English and maths alongside their trade skills.

You'll adapt your teaching to meet individual needs, remove barriers to learning, and help learners see how the skills they're developing connect to the wider world of work. Alongside your teaching, you'll support institutional events and marketing activities, guide learners towards further study and career options, and work closely with colleagues to maintain high standards of health and safety throughout.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

• Relevant industry experience as a plumber or in a related field
