Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden (WBSL) is a purpose built, state-of-the-art film and television studio offering one of the largest facilities in the UK. This 200-acre secure site has half a million square feet of stage space, production offices and workshops together with an exterior filming tank, one of the largest indoor heated underwater filming tanks in Europe and a 100 acre back-lot. WBSL has some of the largest sound stages in the UK and is proving to be a very popular facility for production clients.

WB Leavesden Park, adjacent to the Studio, offers modern and flexible office space for Production Companies. The site also has its own, on-site Set Lighting & Rigging rental division, which provides the industry with state-of-the-art lighting equipment, scaffolding and production supplies for stage and location shoots.

These facilities make Warner Bros. Entertainment the only Hollywood studio to own and operate a production and post-production facility in the UK.

Your New Role…

We have an exciting role open up in our facilities team at our studios, where you will be responsible for the maintenance, modification, and installation of plumbing systems at WBSL. You will also be expected to diversify your role such that you will assist with other general maintenance tasks should the need arise. The role will primarily be based at the Leavesden site but from time to time you may be required to work off site.

Your Role Accountabilities…

  • Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance tasks as requested by the Maintenance Manager, Lead Plumber and issued by Facilities Administrator.
  • Monitor completion of tasks ensuring highest standards of work.
  • Monitor H&S compliance, such as correct PPE being worn, as per the H&S at Work Act and WBSL H&S Policy.
  • Ensure that the sites plumbing, and mechanical equipment are looked after in such a way as to maintain continuous operation and legal compliance with local and national regulations.
  • Carrying out small installation works and modifications to existing systems. This includes dishwashers, washing machines and any other asset installation required.
  • React to all emergency with a view to implement a permanent fix or a temporary safe fix to reduce down-time, working through an escalate process for a quick resolution.
  • Ensure critical spares and operational spare parts are always kept in stock this includes tools assigned to you.

Qualifications & Experiences…

  • NVQ Level 2 Diploma in Plumbing & Heating
  • NVQ Level 2 Diploma in Installing & Maintaining Domestic Heating Systems
  • Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Domestic Plumbing and Heating
  • Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Domestic Plumbing and Heating (Gas Fired Warm Air Appliances)
  • Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Domestic Plumbing and Heating (Gas Fired Water and Central Heating Appliances)
  • Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Domestic Heating
  • Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Domestic Heating (Gas Fired Warm Air Appliances)
  • Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Domestic Heating (Gas Fired Water and Central Heating Appliances)
  • Legionella Regulations Awareness, preferable but not essential
  • Gas safe registered would be advantageous.
  • Water regulations.
  • CENWAT: Central Heating Boilers & Water Heaters
  • Use and maintenance of site plant equipment such as MEWPS (training provided)
  • Working knowledge of industrial and commercial systems including HVAC systems.
  • Interpret drawings and building specifications to map layout for pipes, drainage, and other plumbing related services.
  • Must hold a full UK driving license
  • Capable of dynamic risk assessing activities being undertaken

Working Pattern

You will be required to work a 40-hour week on a rota shift pattern. You may also be required to work evenings and weekends in line with the operating hours of the studio and the studio tour, however this is not often. There will be a requirement to respond to emergencies in and out of normal working hours. You will be required to work some bank holidays.

Onsite Working - This role is advertised as Onsite, meaning all working hours and days (regardless of shift pattern) will be carried out at the place of work. Subject to any applicable laws, WBD / your Line Manager reserves the right to change this working agreement, where this is essential to business needs and upon reasonable notice to you.
