Job summary

Mears Group PLC is seeking an experienced Plumber to join our team in Tannochside, supporting a busy responsive repairs contract. The role involves hands-on plumbing repairs in void and tenanted properties, with a focus on safety, customer service, and quality workmanship.

You will diagnose leaks, replace sanitary ware, and repair heating and drainage systems, while following health and safety guidelines and recording job details on handheld devices.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in domestic repairs and maintenance in a plumbing role.
• Full UK driving licence.
• City & Guilds or equivalent in Plumbing trade discipline.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent customer service in occupied homes.
• Understanding of health and safety regulations and safe working practices.
• Ability to use handheld devices or job management systems to record work.
• Willingness to participate in out-of-hours emergency rota.

Responsibilities

• Carry out responsive plumbing repairs in void and tenanted properties.
• Diagnose and repair leaks, blockages, and drainage issues.
• Replace taps, toilets, cisterns, basins and other sanitary ware.
• Repair or replace pipework, valves, and fittings.
• Investigate and resolve issues with hot water systems and radiators.
• Ensure all work complies with current plumbing regulations and health and safety standards.
• Record job details, materials used, and completion notes using handheld devices or job sheets.
• Maintain tools, equipment and company vehicle in good working order.
