Qualifications

• Experience maintaining plumbing systems in commercial or public buildings.

Responsibilities

• Replace a straight line of radiators in a closed wing as part of PPM updates.
• Carry out planned plumbing maintenance and safety checks per PPM schedules.
• Inspect, test and maintain hot and cold water systems including toilets, sinks and showers.
• Diagnose faults, replace components and carry out minor repairs to plumbing installations.
• Support maintenance of heating and domestic water services, including flushing and TMV checks.
• Ensure compliance with Legionella control measures and water hygiene standards.

Job DescriptionSW-007-Plumb-270 Plumber – Planned Maintenance (PPM) £220 - £230 per day Working for a Maintenance Contractor Based At one location in West London Short term temp role This role will be working in your own in closed wing of a Cat C Prison Position good to knows We are working in partnership with a maintenance contractor to recruit a skilled Plumber to deliver Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) within a secure facility in West London This is a short term contract opportunity based at a single site within a Category C Prison, where you'll carry out plumbing maintenance across accommodation and service areas. You will be responsible for replacing a straight line of radiators in a closed wing.

Important good to knows

• The facility is a secure unit and therefore personal items (mobile phones) will not be allowed past security checks daily
• There will be a key holder in each team and as a team you will be responsible for the safe movement, use, storage and removal of a work tool chest and required materials to complete set works
• The facility could be challenging environment for some due to it's secure nature and security checks, so you must be happy working in and around a secure facility which houses patients and inmates

Key elements of the role and your responsibilities

• You will be responsible for replacing a straight line of radiators in a closed wing
• Carry out planned plumbing maintenance and safety checks in accordance with PPM schedules
• Inspect, test, and maintain hot and cold water systems, including toilets, sinks, showers, and associated pipework
• Diagnose faults, replace components, and complete minor repairs to plumbing installations
• Support the maintenance of heating and domestic water services, including flushing systems and checking TMVs
• Ensure compliance with Legionella control measures and water hygiene standards
• Complete minor multi-trade tasks when necessary (e.g. sealing, making good)
• Work collaboratively with facilities management and on-site estates teams
• Accurately complete job sheets, time records, and compliance documentation

What you need to bring to the role

• Qualified Plumber or Plumbing & Heating Engineer with experience in PPM and facilities maintenance
• Recognised qualifications: City & Guilds/NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plumbing or Heating
• Experience maintaining plumbing systems in commercial or public buildings
• Knowledge of water regulations, Legionella prevention, and building services
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• CSCS card or equivalent
• Health & Safety awareness
• Experience in secure, healthcare or educational settings is advantageous
• Willingness to comply with security and site-specific procedures
