Job summary

Vertu FM is seeking an experienced Plumber / Pipework Installation Engineer to join our Yorkshire-based team. You will perform pipework installations across commercial sites and collaborate with AC and Gas Engineers on installation projects.

The role involves regular national travel with overnight stays. We offer a permanent full-time contract, a salary of £30,000–£38,000 DOE, and a company van with travel allowances as part of a comprehensive package.

Qualifications

• Have previous experience in plumbing, pipework installation or mechanical building services.
• Good practical experience installing and working with a variety of pipework systems.
• Ideally hold a recognised Plumbing or Mechanical qualification.
• Be comfortable working alongside qualified AC and Gas Engineers.
• Be genuinely happy with regular national travel and working away from home.

Responsibilities

• Carry out a range of pipework installations across commercial properties.
• Work alongside experienced AC and Gas Engineers as part of an installation team.
• Install, modify and repair pipework and associated building services systems.
• Support mechanical, heating and air conditioning installation projects.
• Carry out pipework alterations, repairs and associated installation works.
• Read and work from installation drawings and project specifications where required.
• Assist with identifying and resolving installation-related issues.
• Work alongside other engineers and contractors to ensure projects are completed efficiently.
• Ensure all work is completed safely and to a high standard.
• Complete relevant job reports and documentation.
• Travel to projects across the UK, including regular overnight stays when required.

We are working with a reputable and growing facilities management and building services contractor providing installation and maintenance services to commercial clients across the UK.

Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit an experienced Plumber / Pipework Installation Engineer to join their engineering team, working alongside experienced Air Conditioning and Gas Engineers on a variety of installation projects.

The role will involve a mixture of pipework installations across commercial sites, with projects both locally and nationally.

Regular working away is an important part of this position, so applicants must be comfortable travelling and staying away from home when required.

The Role

The Person

The successful candidate will:

• Have previous experience in plumbing, pipework installation or mechanical building services.
• Have good practical experience installing and working with a variety of pipework systems.
• Ideally hold a recognised Plumbing or Mechanical qualification.
• Be comfortable working alongside qualified AC and Gas Engineers.
• Have experience working on commercial installation projects.
• Have good problem-solving skills and a practical, hands-on approach.
• Be comfortable working independently and as part of an installation team.
• Ideally be based within Yorkshire, including Bradford, Bingley, Leeds or surrounding areas.
• Be genuinely happy with regular national travel and working away from home.
• Hold a full UK driving licence.
• Be professional, reliable and customer-focused.

The Package

• Salary £30,000–£38,000 DOE.
• Permanent, full-time position.
• Company van - Travel paid, excluding the first and last 30 minutes of each working day.
