Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Plumber, Plumber Multi or Multi-Trade Operative
• Strong domestic plumbing and maintenance experience
• Good all-round multi-trade skills
• Social housing, housing associations, council properties or domestic maintenance experience desirable
• Experience working within occupied properties
• Plumbing qualification such as NVQ Level 2 or equivalent preferred
• Full UK Driving Licence
• Ability to diagnose faults and complete repairs independently
• Good communication and customer service skills

Responsibilities

• Carrying out responsive plumbing repairs and maintenance across social housing properties
• Diagnosing faults and completing repairs safely and to a high standard
• Completing general multi-trade works including basic carpentry, patch plastering, tiling and minor building repairs
• Carrying out repairs within occupied properties, working respectfully around residents and their belongings
• Undertaking repairs within void properties, helping prepare homes for re-let
• Completing kitchen and bathroom repairs and maintenance
• Carrying out remedial works and making good following repairs
• Using handheld PDA/job-management systems to receive, update and complete jobs
• Identifying additional works and reporting any repairs requiring follow-up
• Keeping work areas clean, safe and tidy
• Providing excellent customer service to tenants and residents
• Working towards achieving first-time fixes wherever possible

We are currently recruiting for an experiencedPlumber / Multi-Trade Operative to join an established repairs and maintenance team, carrying outresponsive repairs across social housing properties in Bedford and the surrounding areas.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled plumber who has strongmulti-trade abilities and is looking forlong-term security, a permanent contract and a competitive salary of up to £38,000.

The role offers a varied workload, with the majority of work being carried out withinoccupied residents' homes, alongside work on void properties. You'll have the opportunity to use your plumbing skills every day while also completing a range of general maintenance and multi-trade repairs.

The Role

As a Plumber / Multi-Trade Operative, you will be responsible for attending residents' properties and completingresponsive repairs and maintenance, diagnosing issues and carrying out high-quality repairs wherever possible.

Day-to-day duties will include:

About You

We're looking for a practical and reliablePlumber / Multi-Trader who is confident working independently and dealing directly with residents.

Ideally, you will have:

• Proven experience as aPlumber, Plumber Multi or Multi-Trade Operative
• Strong domestic plumbing and maintenance experience
• Good all-round multi-trade skills
• Previous experience withinsocial housing, housing associations, council properties or domestic maintenance is highly desirable
• Experience working withinoccupied properties
• Plumbing qualification such asNVQ Level 2 or equivalent preferred
• Ability to diagnose faults and complete repairs independently
• Full UK Driving Licence
• Good communication and customer service skills
• A professional, reliable and respectful approach
