Job summary

Fortus Recruitment Group is seeking an experienced Plumber Multi to perform reactive repairs across occupied social housing properties in Swindon and surrounding areas.

The role is primarily plumbing with some multi-trade work; you will work directly with residents, carrying out repairs and communicating professionally on-site.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Plumber Multi in domestic settings.
• Strong domestic plumbing background with reactive repairs experience.
• Qualification such as NVQ Level 2 in plumbing or demonstrable equivalent.
• Own tools and full UK driving licence with ≤6 points.
• Ability to work independently and manage daily schedule; good communication.

Responsibilities

• Carry out reactive plumbing repairs across occupied social housing.
• Diagnose leaks and faults; repair taps, toilets, baths, and sanitaryware.
• Perform minor multi-trade tasks: tiling, plastering, decorating, carpentry.
• Keep residents informed and complete repairs on first visit when possible.
• Work across Swindon and surrounding areas; report additional works required.

Job description

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Plumber Multi to carry out reactive repairs and maintenance across occupied social housing properties for an established maintenance contractor in Swindon and the surrounding areas.

The role will be mainly plumbing focused, with some multi-trade work involved. The successful candidate will be carrying out responsive repairs across occupied properties and will need to be comfortable working directly with residents.

Duties

• Carrying out reactive plumbing repairs
• Diagnosing and resolving leaks and general plumbing faults
• Repairing and replacing taps, valves, toilets, sinks, baths and other sanitaryware
• Repairing waste pipework, traps and accessible pipework
• Isolating and restoring water supplies and checking completed repairs
• Completing minor multi-trade works including tiling, plastering, decorating and carpentry
• Removing and reinstating boxing, access panels and kitchen fittings where required
• Making good following repairs
• Completing repairs on the first visit where possible
• Working independently across multiple occupied properties
• Communicating professionally with residents and reporting any additional works required

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Plumber Multi
• Strong domestic plumbing background
• Experience carrying out reactive repairs and maintenance
• Relevant plumbing qualification such as NVQ Level 2 or equivalent, or demonstrable plumbing experience
• Good supporting multi-trade skills
• Own tools required
• Full UK driving licence with no more than 6 points
• Good communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work independently and manage a daily schedule
• Social housing or occupied property experience preferred
