Job summary

OCS UK & Ireland is seeking a skilled facilities maintenance technician in the Newcastle area. You will perform planned preventative maintenance, tackle reactive tasks, and manage contractor activities to ensure service delivery aligns with client expectations while maintaining safety standards.

The role requires NVQ/City & Guilds in Plumbing/Mechanical Services, CSCS, a valid UK driving licence, and proficiency with electronic handheld devices.

Qualifications

• Right to work in the UK required.
• NVQ or City & Guilds in Plumbing/Mechanical Services.
• CSCS card or equivalent certification.
• Valid UK driving licence required.
• Experience in Facilities Management preferred.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and reactive works within agreed timeframes.
• Provide callout response as per rota.
• Oversee contractor delivery and workmanship on site.
• Ensure equipment and surroundings meet company standards.
• Evaluate performance and ensure proper servicing of contracted equipment.
• Maintain safe working practices in line with Health & Safety legislation.

About The Role:

Working Hours: Monday to Friday 08:00-16:30

Key Responsibilities:

• To undertake PPM, proactive and reactive works issued through the helpdesk within set time frames so that the customer expectations are met.
• To provide a callout response for the client as detailed on the callout rota.
• To undertake contractor control duties on behalf of the client, including monitoring of contractors and their workmanship, so that relevant standards are met.
• To ensure equipment and surrounding area conform to agreed company standards.
• To evaluate performance and ensure the proper servicing and maintenance of equipment under contract to the company is carried out.
• Working in a safe manner at all times, complying with current Health & Safety legislation

Key Hiring Criteria:

• Applicant must have the right to work in the UK
• Must have a current, valid driving licence
• Candidates must have the relevant certifications and qualifications required to meet the requirements of this position, together with relevant Grade Cards such as CSCS.
• NVQ or City & Guilds in the following: Plumbing/Mechanical Services.
• Previous experience working within Facilities Management.
• Ability to use electronic handheld devices.
