Job summary

TSG Building Services plc is seeking a qualified Plumber to install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems in mainly residential properties, with occasional commercial work. You will handle pipework, radiators, hot water circuits and fittings, ensuring compliance with safety standards.

The role requires practical experience with general pipework, use of hand and power tools, and the ability to schedule work with other trades.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair and maintain plumbing systems and components.
• Conduct works on general pipework using soldering, cement, solvents, couplings or caulking.
• Install, repair and maintain water treatment equipment, piping and controls (e.g., Power).
• Install and commission radiators and hot water circuits when required.
• Test pipe systems and fixtures for leaks by filling with water or air.
• Identify required tools and special equipment.
• Assemble and install valves, heating controls and fittings external to boilers.
• Select the type and size of pipe required.
• Locate and mark positions for pipe installations and fixtures.
• Cut openings to accommodate pipes and fittings using hand and power tools.
• Install, repair and maintain plumbing fixtures, appliances and trims.
• Drain down and fill open vented and sealed heating systems.
• Work on above ground soil stacks.
• Perform scheduled maintenance service on plumbing systems and fixtures.
• Prepare orders for suppliers and hand over to Parts Coordinator or relevant person.
• Fill out relevant paperwork as required.
• Schedule work in cooperation with other trades and suppliers.
• Ensure all Health & Safety standards are adhered to at all times and that work is carried out within statutory regulations.
• Wear protective clothing and equipment as issued and as necessary.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and security of equipment.

OVERALL PURPOSE OF JOB

To provide a quality service to our clients and tenants, the plumber is responsible for installing, repairing and maintaining pipes, fixtures and other plumbing appliances used for heating/hot water distributions and waste water disposal in mainly residential properties and occassionally on commercial and industrial buildings.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

Install, repair and maintain plumbing systems and components

1. 1. Conduct works on general pipework via various methods e.g. soldering using blow torches,cement, plastic solvents, couplings or caulking
2. 2. Install, repair amd maintain water treatment equipment, piping and controls e.g. Power
3. 3. Install and commission radiators and hot water circuits when required
4. 4. Test pipe system and fixtures for leaks by filling with water or air and observing
5. 5. Identify required tools and special equipment
6. 6. Assemble and install valves, heating controls and fittings external to boilers
7. 7. Select the type and size of pipe required
8. 8. Locate and mark positions for pipe installations,connections and fixtures

3. 19. To ensure the cleanliness of the vehicle.
4. 20. To ensure the security and correct operation of equipment supplied, i.e. Tools, vehicles

Other Duties:

1. 21. To ensure your timesheets are filled out correctly, on a daily basis and signed off by the relevant person.
2. 22.To act in a polite and professional manner at all times especially when dealing with members of the public.
3. 23. To work overtime as can be reasonably required.
4. 24. To help out in any other duties as and when required in order to meet the needs of the business, e.g. Occassionally you will be required to work for the Company's Construction Division installing sanitaryware, kitchens sinks etc
