Job summary

People Working Cooperatively seeks a plumber to assemble, install, and repair pipes, fittings, and fixtures for heating, water, and drainage systems in low-income residential homes.

The role requires 2–5 years of plumbing experience, a Journeyman's License, and licensing in Ohio and/or Kentucky; a Master Contractor license is preferred. Candidate must work effectively with others and complete documentation promptly.

Job description

Position Overview

Assembles, installs, and repairs pipes, fittings, and fixtures of heating, water, and drainage systems. Performs other general repair duties as assigned.

Essential Job Functions

• Repairs and maintains plumbing by replacing washers in leaky faucets, mending burst pipes, and opening clogged drains.
• Installs and repairs plumbing fixtures such as sinks, commodes, bathtubs, water heaters, hot water tanks, etc.
• Assembles and installs valves, pipe fittings, and pipes composed of metals, such as iron, steel, brass, and lead, and nonmetals, such as glass, vitrified clay, and plastic.
• Joins pipes by use of screws, bolts, fittings, solder, plastic solvent, and caulks joints.
• Inspects structure to ascertain obstructions to be avoided to prevent weakening of structure resulting from installation of pipe.
• Locates and marks position of pipe and pipe connections and passage holes for pipes in walls and floors.
• Cuts openings in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and pipe fittings.
• Cuts and threads pipe.

Requirements

Requirements / Qualifications

• Two toFive years plumbing experience
• Must have Journeyman's License
• Licensed in Ohio and/or Kentucky
• Master Contractor license preferred

Physical Demands
