Job Title: Plumber

Location: Borough-wide (Southwark)

Contract Type: Full-time

Hours: 36 hours per week (Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM)

Rate of Pay: £24.42 per hour

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Plumber to join our Communal Repairs Team, working across a range of housing and property stock. The successful candidate will be part of a multidisciplinary team providing high-quality repairs and maintenance services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver skilled plumbing services as part of a multi-trade team across occupied and unoccupied properties.
  • Carry out a wide range of repair and maintenance tasks, including plumbing, carpentry, glazing, plastering, tiling, and painting.
  • Diagnose defects, recommend solutions, and ensure timely and effective completion of repair works.
  • Provide excellent customer service, working with residents and stakeholders in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations, risk assessments, and method statements.
  • Use mobile technology to receive, update, and complete job orders.
  • Maintain and monitor tools, vehicle, and equipment to ensure safety and efficiency.
  • Mentor apprentices and less experienced colleagues when required.

Job Context

This service operates a 24/7 response model, delivering thousands of repair jobs and refurbishments annually. This role plays a key part in meeting service objectives such as:

  • Ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Supporting investment in staff development and team performance.
Additional Information
  • Reporting to: Service Manager
  • Vehicle Use: A company van and fuel card will be provided. You are responsible for the safe use and security of the vehicle and all tools/materials.
  • Location: Various sites (occupied homes, void properties, offices).
  • Training: Must be willing to attend statutory and CPD training courses.
  • Hours: Monday to Friday, between 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM (standard 36-hour week).
  • Out of Hours: You may be required to join an emergency call-out rota.
  • PPE: Full use of Personal Protective Equipment is mandatory.
Essential Requirements
  • Relevant plumbing qualification(s) and multi-trade experience.
  • Full UK driving licence (for use of company vehicle).
  • Commitment to health & safety and continuous professional development.
  • Ability to work flexibly across different sites and respond to emergencies as needed.

  • Probationary Period: 26 weeks
