PLC Software Engineer – East Lancashire – Bespoke Machinery – £45-50k + overtime + 25 days holiday + above auto-enrolment pension contribution

Samuel Frank is recruiting for an experienced PLC Software Engineer, ideally with Allen Bradley PLC experience, to join a well-established special purpose equipment manufacturer based in East Lancashire.

The successful PLC Software Engineer will work with a talented Team Manager who is supportive and comes from a Controls/Software background as well as a team of Engineers including PLC Software Engineers, Control Engineers and Electrical Design Engineers.

Key aspects of the PLC Software Engineer position include –

  • Extremely wide variety of project work/machinery to work on – all the machines are one-off bespoke machines
  • Developing and modifying PLC and HMI software to maximise performance (company uses mainly Allen Bradley PLCs – Allen Bradley, Studio 5000, Logix 500, Logix 5000, FactoryTalk View)
  • Opportunity to learn and be trained on AutoCAD Electrical
  • Conduct thorough workshop testing and onsite commissioning
  • PLC Software Engineer will have a 70/30 split between being based in the office and out on customer sites – 95% of the sites are based in the UK with a typical trip being 1-2 weeks in duration
  • Collaborative/supportive working environment
  • Ideally be qualified to ONC/HNC level
  • 40 working week with overtime available during office working time as well as when you’re commissioning on site
  • Lunchtime finish on Fridays when working in the office

The company’s premises are commutable from most of Lancashire including places such as Blackburn, Burnley, Accrington, Colne and even over the hills from places such as Keighley.
