PLC Programming Engineer

Location: Drax Power Station, Selby

Type: Permanent, full-time

About the role

You’ll join the Control & Instrumentation engineering team to safely deliver control system and PLC modifications and upgrades. Responsibilities include plant improvement projects, maintaining and enhancing existing control systems and PLCs with the latest security measures against cyber-attacks. This role involves technical problem solving, communication, and contributes to delivering renewable energy at Drax Power Station. It offers an opportunity to develop into a subject matter expert on cyber-security improvements aligned with NIS regulation and IEC62443 standards.

Who we’re looking for

You should have a minimum of a HND in Control & Instrumentation, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or Software Engineering, coupled with PLC programming experience. Experience with Schneider PLCs and knowledge of NIS regulation and IEC62443 are desirable. The role requires project management skills, a willingness to learn, strong analytical and communication skills, and a commitment to safety and environmental standards.
