Leeds Mencap offers a range of services for children and young people with learning disabilities and/or autism and their families. We are recruiting Playscheme Assistants for our school holiday activities; there are several vacancies as we aim to expand our existing pool of Playscheme Assistants.
We currently offer playschemes for children and young people aged 4-18 years, providing fun and creative activities that offer a variety of experiences regardless of disability. Our playschemes are inclusive of children and young people with a wide range of support needs. The Playscheme Assistant's role is to ensure children and young people participate safely in activities, have fun, and enjoy themselves.
If you are eager to develop your skills working with children and young people with additional needs, enjoy working as part of a team, and are dedicated to providing engaging activities, then this could be the role for you!
“My child loves it, he enjoys the activities and playing with others. It boosts his self-esteem and independence. He feels very safe there, and it is his favourite place to go. For the family, it provides respite and reassurance that he is in a safe, well-organized environment with trained staff that fosters his growth.” - Playscheme Parent

This is a fantastic opportunity to make a difference with your talents.
