We are looking for a Play Team Assistant to join our supportive team providing play experiences to children during hospital visits or admissions. The successful candidate will work within the Children's Services play department, referring to health play specialists as needed. This role involves working in a challenging yet rewarding environment, promoting inclusive play, supporting communication with families, and organizing play activities suitable for children’s age and medical condition. Weekend work is expected. The role offers opportunities for skill development and professional growth. You must be physically fit, motivated, and able to work independently and as part of a team. You will support play activities in various hospital settings, ensuring safety and hygiene, and maintaining effective communication with children and families. The department includes facilities like the Paediatric Inpatient Ward, Assessment Unit, High Dependency Unit, Day Unit, Oncology Shared Care, and Outpatient Department. The role requires compassion, professionalism, cultural sensitivity, and the ability to adapt to changing environments. Basic IT skills are necessary. Your work will help create a supportive environment where children’s emotional, social, and developmental needs are met.

Additional working pattern details: Weekend working expected.
