Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a compassionate Play Specialist to join our ward team and help children feel safe, supported and confident during their hospital stay. This Band 4 role is a 30-hour-per-week, permanent contract, focused on using play to comfort, reassure and assist in the child’s hospital journey.

Responsabilidades

• Reduce anxiety and stress by using play to help children express feelings and understand experiences during hospital stays.
• Distraction during procedures by engaging children in play to reduce pain or discomfort.
• Provide age-appropriate activities to support cognitive, emotional, and physical development in hospital settings.
• Prepare children for treatments using dolls, toys, or drawings to explain procedures.
• Support emotional expression through therapeutic play to help children process fears and emotions.
• Support families with guidance on understanding and supporting their child during stress.
