Job description

We are seeking to appoint a Play Leader to lead and manage our brand-new Wraparound Care provision. We are looking for someone who is dedicated, hardworking, passionate about working with children, and able to have fun while being organised and capable of leading a small team. The purpose of this role is to ensure the smooth running of the After School Club.

Working Hours:

Monday – Friday, 2.45pm-6.00pm – during term time (38 weeks)

Salary:

After School Club – (16.50 hours per week) - £11,440 (38 weeks)

The role will be term time for the afterschool club care, but there will be opportunities for the successful candidate to support with setting up and running holiday care provision.

Holiday Care Hours:

Monday – Friday, 8.00am-5.00pm – during school holidays for approximately 8 weeks per year. Holiday Club Hours – (40 hours per week) - £5,441 for 8 weeks per year.

Responsibilities:
  • Leading the day-to-day organisation of the After School and Holiday Care, providing a wide variety of fun-filled activities.
  • Ensuring the wraparound programme is delivered to a high standard, catering to children aged 4 to 11 years of mixed ability.
  • Creating a safe, welcoming, and friendly environment with high-quality creative play opportunities that embrace each child's individual needs, qualities, and personalities.
  • Organising equipment and resources for the children.
  • Liaising with parents and carers to encourage involvement and providing relevant feedback about their child.
Candidate Requirements:
  • Passion for working with primary-aged children and facilitating fun activities.
  • Experience in wraparound care and/or childcare settings.
  • Experience in delivering activities to primary-aged children.
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality sessions.
  • Approachable, good communicator, able to build effective relationships with families.
  • Supportive of the school’s Behaviour Policy and able to implement it effectively.
  • Trained Designated Safeguarding Lead.
  • Supportive of the school's ethos and aims.
Salary & Benefits:
