Job summary

Héroux-Devtek in Runcorn, United Kingdom, is seeking a Plating Technician to produce conforming aerospace components through electro-plating and coatings, working to tight tolerances.

You will prepare components, apply jigs, set plating parameters, follow work instructions, and collaborate within a team, with training and development opportunities in a modern 120,000 sq ft facility.

Qualifications

• Hands‑on experience in electroplating, HVOF coating, cadmium, nickel, and chrome plating, as well as metal finishing and polishing.
• Skilled in working to tight tolerances and familiar with GD&T standards.
• Proficient in using precision measurement tools such as micrometers and bore gauges.
• Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

• Prepare components for plating using various masking techniques.
• Apply appropriate jigs and tooling to ensure correct plating deposits.
• Calculate optimal plating settings, including amperage and timing.
• Follow detailed work instructions to ensure product quality and compliance.
• Collaborate effectively within a team while also working independently.

Designated as a Center of Excellence, the facility specializes in surface treatment and assembly of small to medium sized landing gear systems.

Job Summary

The Plating technician primary purpose is to produce conforming aerospace components, working to tight tolerances and electro-plating Hard Chrome, Sulphamate Nickel and Cadmium coatings.
