Bolt6 is building the future of sport. We are a sports technology company at the forefront of visual innovation, with offices in London and Winchester and a fully remote option.

We’re looking for an experienced Software Developer to join our Platforms team, working across the stack with Python and TypeScript to build reliable backend services, APIs and engaging web applications. You’ll contribute to real-time data pipelines, data overlays and internal tooling, collaborating with product teams

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong experience programming in Python.
• Strong experience with TypeScript and modern web development.
• Full-stack development experience with backend and frontend systems.
• Experience designing and building RESTful APIs.
• Good understanding of software architecture and maintainable code.
• Proficient with Git and modern workflows.
• Experience with Kubernetes or other container orchestration.
• Experience with Docker or Podman.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and communication skills.
• Self-starting and capable of independent project work.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain software across our Platforms ecosystem.

We work across tennis, golf, motorsport, volleyball, and more; partnering with rights holders and broadcasters to elevate how sport is seen, understood, and enjoyed.

What You’ll Do

We’re looking for an experienced Software Developer to join our Platforms team, helping us build and evolve the software infrastructure that powers our products and operations.

This is a hands‑on development role with opportunities to work across the stack. You’ll be comfortable working with Python and TypeScript, building reliable backend services and APIs as well as contributing to web applications and internal tooling.

• Design, develop and maintain software across our Platforms ecosystem
• Build and maintain APIs and backend services that provide real‑time data to applications
• Develop web applications and user interfaces using TypeScript and modern web technologies
• Build internal tools and systems that improve efficiency, reliability and operational workflows
• Work across the full software development lifecycle, from understanding requirements through to development, testing, deployment and ongoing support
• Design and implement robust, scalable and maintainable software
• Integrate with data sources, messaging systems and other internal and external services
• Work closely with developers, product teams and technical stakeholders to understand problems and develop effective solutions
• Contribute to technical decisions and help shape the architecture and direction of our Platforms technology
• Identify opportunities to improve existing systems, processes and ways of working

What You’ll Bring

• 3+ years of professional software development experience
• Strong experience programming in Python
• Strong experience with TypeScript and modern web development
• Full-stack development experience, with an understanding of both backend and frontend systems
• Experience designing and building RESTful APIs
• Good understanding of software architecture, design principles and writing maintainable code
• Proficient with Git and modern software development workflows
• Experience with Kubernetes or other container orchestration technologies
• Experience with software containers such as Docker or Podman
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and excellent communication skills
• A flexible, self‑starting approach, with the initiative to pick up and develop projects independently
• Experience owning projects end‑to‑end: working with stakeholders to scope the development requirements; fast iteration; deploying to production; and working with users to manage feedback and fixes
• Intellectual curiosity and a desire to ask the right questions to get to the bottom of complex problems
• The ability to quickly understand unfamiliar systems and technologies
• The ability to work well under pressure and to tight deadlines whilst remaining organised

Location

There is a choice between working remotely, or we also have offices in London and Winchester you may choose to work from.
