An exciting new opportunity has been created at OCU. We are seeking an experienced Platform Support Manager to be based in Stockport or Preston.

The Platform Support Manager is a crucial role focused on ensuring stability, scalability, and service excellence as the company grows. This leadership position is pivotal during a transformative period, supporting increasing contracts, clients, and platform usage. The role involves overseeing incident resolution, platform resilience, and operational efficiency to minimize downtime and enhance user experience.

Duties and Responsibilities

Managing a small team, you will drive continuous improvement, ensure compliance, and foster collaboration with technology partners. Your efforts will help minimize reliance on external support, supporting business continuity, client satisfaction, and scalable IT operations within a £1bn+ enterprise.

  • Ensures Stability & Scalability: Safeguard platform performance, incident resolution, and system resilience, enabling seamless scaling and minimizing downtime.
  • Enhances Service & Client Satisfaction: Lead a high-performing support team to ensure faster issue resolution, better onboarding, and improved user experience.
  • Supports Strategic Growth: Integrate new acquisitions, manage vendor relationships, and optimize IT operations to support business expansion confidently.

Skills and Experience

  • 5+ years of management experience in enterprise-scale IT or platform support.
  • Proven expertise in IT service management, incident response, and problem management in large-scale (£1bn+ revenue) businesses, ideally within technology, workforce management, payroll, or platform sectors.
  • Experience managing both bespoke in-house platforms and Enterprise COTS applications (e.g., D365), ensuring high availability and performance.
  • Strong knowledge of ITSM tools (ServiceNow, Jira, Fresh Service) and best practices for incident, problem, and change management.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps or similar tools for issue tracking, release management, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience managing escalations, vendor relationships, and third-party support to ensure timely resolution.
