Job summary

HP’s Security Lab is looking for a Platform Security Research Engineer to design and prototype robust security architectures for endpoint devices, focusing on hardware-firmware co-design and trusted hardware roots of trust. You will analyze threats, craft security solutions, and collaborate across HP’s security researchers and technologists.

The role requires strong engineering skills, knowledge of OS/kernel security is a plus, and the ability to communicate complex concepts to diverse teams.

Qualifications

• Experience with hardware and firmware technologies (x86, ARM, UEFI, PCIe, DMA, etc.).
• Strong understanding of computer architecture and security.
• Proven engineering abilities in complex system design.

Platform Security Research Engineer

Description -

Wehave an exciting opportunity to join our Security Lab. The role will be focused on designing platform security for endpoint devices, with particular emphasis hardware-firmware co-design and on designing and using robust hardware roots of trust and security properties. You’ll also collaborate with business R&D teams to ensure business impact drives our development strategy.

You willbecontributing to HP’s security research, contributing to analysis of use cases and threats, as well as design and prototyping novel security architecture to help inform the design of future products and services. You will beworking closely with systems security research engineers, and with security technologists across HP.

The candidatewillhavesolidtechnical skills andabackground in computer engineering and architecture, ideally with knowledge in systems security and some understanding of enterprise IT architectures. This position requires a strong engineer who can communicate effectively about low level computer architecture and security.

This will be a fixed term research engineering contract position, initially for up to 18 months.
