Job summary

Innova Recruitment is assisting a Manchester-based client to elevate its platform engineering, reliability and quality practices. The role reports to the CTO and focuses on AI-assisted software delivery, observability and automated testing adoption.

You will influence technical direction, define standards, and coach teams while expanding Azure and IaC capabilities. The position offers a hybrid work model in Manchester with salary up to £80k plus benefits.

Qualifications

Proven track record leading platform engineering and reliability programs.
Deep experience with Azure, IaC (Bicep/Terraform) and CI/CD pipelines.
Strong observability practice with telemetry, dashboards and alerting.
Able to coach development teams and influence tech direction.

Responsibilities

Own the platform engineering practice across the business.
Define engineering standards, tooling and best practice across platform engineering, DevOps and quality engineering.
Lead the implementation of an observability strategy with telemetry, monitoring, dashboards and alerting.
Improve Azure platform capabilities and bring IaC ownership in-house.
Review and evolve the Playwright automation estate to empower developers in testing.
Optimise CI/CD pipelines for faster builds, deployments and release confidence.
Collaborate with the Tech Lead to improve reliability, scalability and operational excellence across web and mobile platforms.
Help shape capabilities to support AI-assisted, spec-driven software delivery.
