Job summary

EDF (UK) seeks a Platform Recovery Lead to strengthen our digital recovery capabilities across complex platforms and cloud environments. You will work within Enterprise IT to ensure resilience and readiness while supporting collaboration with engineering, security, and product teams.

The role is hybrid, balancing home and on-site work with occasional travel to EDF offices in the UK. You will lead cross-functional recovery activities and drive continuous improvement in testing and documentation

Qualifications

• Experience in IT disaster recovery, digital recovery, operational resilience, or IT service continuity.
• Hands-on experience with resilience frameworks and scenario testing.
• Familiarity with on-premises and cloud platforms (Azure/AWS).
• Ability to lead cross-functional response activities and influence senior stakeholders.

• Develop and maintain IT digital recovery plans aligned to architectural standards.
• Maintain recovery runbooks and technical recovery procedures for critical services.
• Raise and monitor recovery risks; assist with mitigation planning with business continuity leads.
• Ensure recovery capabilities meet service level requirements with enterprise teams.
• Improve testing methods to align with regulatory and industry expectations.
• Engage with senior stakeholders across a federated business model to drive resilience priorities.
• Understand service priorities and recovery readiness within business units.

We are seeking someone with passion, skills and experience to help our Platform Recovery team strengthen our ability to recover technology services.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Enterprise Product Manager in the Enterprise Platform team, the Platform Recovery Lead will play a key role ensuring our technology services are resilient, recoverable and capable of withstanding disruptions.

Our Platform Recovery practise shapes and drives our digital recovery strategy across complex platforms, cloud environments, and critical business services. The team collaborates closely with colleagues in engineering, security, service management, business units and product teams to coordinate recovery activities and improve enterprise-wide readiness.

This is hybrid working role, that balances time at home and on site to support collaboration and delivery. There will therefore be occasional travel to our offices within the UK.

Who You Are

• To be successful in this role you’ll be detail‑oriented with strong analytical skills and the ability to analyse technical information to translate into structured recovery documentation.
• You’ll have proven experience of IT disaster recovery, digital recovery, operational resilience, or IT service continuity.
• Hands‑on experience with operational resilience frameworks, impact tolerance setting and scenario testing.
• Familiarity with on‑premise and cloud platforms (Azure/AWS), infrastructure resilience patterns and enterprise architecture principles.
• Ability to lead cross‑functional response activities and influence senior stakeholders.
• Ideally, you’ll have certifications such as ITIL, ISO 22301, CISSP, CISM, or Cloud Architecture qualifications.
• Working collaboratively with the wider Enterprise Platform team and business colleagues to create a great place to work.

To be appointed to this role, you will need to meet the criteria for Security Clearance (SC), which will ordinarily require you to have British residency for the last five years.

What You’ll Be Doing

• You’ll support the development and maintenance of IT digital recovery plans, ensuring documentation is accurate, complete, and aligned to architectural standards.
• You’ll maintain and assure recovery runbooks and technical recovery procedures for critical infrastructure and application services.
• You’ll raise and monitor recovery related risks and support mitigation planning with business continuity leads and Enterprise product managers and owners.
• You’ll work with Enterprise product teams and business units to ensure recovery capabilities meet service level requirements.
• You’ll assist with continuous improvement of testing methods, ensuring alignment with regulatory and industry expectations.
• You’ll engage with senior stakeholders across a federated business model to ensure resilience priorities are understood and supported.
• You’ll engage with business units to understand their service priorities and recovery readiness including regular testing regimes.
