Job summary

Moorepay is seeking a Platform Product Owner to translate the Pod's strategy into precise, buildable specifications that drive our AI-first payroll and HR platform. You will work inside a cross-functional Pod with Engineering, QA, UX and Product to deliver measurable outcomes.

You will own the Pod backlog, balance stakeholder needs across Payroll, HR and Workforce Management, and make day-to-day prioritisation calls to keep the team moving quickly.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Product Owner or Business Analyst in SaaS or software product environments.
• Exceptional written precision with specs and acceptance criteria.
• Adaptable and eager to learn in a fast-moving setting.
• Comfortable working daily in a cross-functional delivery team.
• Structured, evidence-based backlog prioritisation and trade-offs.
• Strong stakeholder skills across multiple internal product teams.
• Experience with platform or shared-services product areas (identity, integration, shared data, workflow).
• Experience with modern AI-assisted development approaches and structured specs beyond user stories.
• Knowledge of payroll, HR or wider HCM software.
• Experience working across multi-product or multi-team architecture.
• Experience working with Azure DevOps.

Responsibilities

• Write specifications with precision—author specs and acceptance criteria clear for the team to build from directly.
• Own the Pod's backlog—turn the Platform Product Manager's roadmap into a sequenced backlog.
• Serve the domain teams as customers—gather Payroll, HR and WFM needs and serve all cleanly.
• Make day-to-day calls—own in-Pod prioritisation and trade-offs so Engineering, QA and UX focus on what matters now.
• Accept the work—review delivered work against spec and acceptance criteria and sign it off before it ships.
• Run the Pod's rhythm—drive Pod ceremonies, planning, stand-ups, retros, to keep the team focused on outcomes.
• Curate platform domain knowledge—keep specs and context current with Architect and engineering.
• Close the learning loop—feed Pod learnings back into the roadmap and sequencing.
