Platform Operations Manager

Key Responsibilities

• Technical Leadership: Provide guidance and direction to the IT team.
• Infrastructure Management: Design, implement, and oversee the organisation's IT infrastructure, including both on-premise and cloud systems.
• System Monitoring: Ensure smooth operation and quick resolution of issues within IT systems.
• Strategic Planning: Develop strategies and plans for IT solutions that support business objectives.
• Resource Coordination: Direct resources to ensure optimal system performance and availability.
• Collaboration: Work with IT teams to ensure infrastructure architecture meets quality and security standards.
• Cross-Team Collaboration: Partner with Data, Quant, and Analyst teams to achieve organisational goals and enhance service delivery.
• Compliance: Ensure adherence to industry regulations and standards.
• Risk Management: Develop contingency plans and risk management processes to ensure business continuity.
• Budget Management: Oversee budget and contracts related to IT systems and vendors.

Required Experience

• IT Infrastructure Management: Extensive experience in managing IT infrastructure or platform operations, preferably in the finance sector.
• Hybrid Architecture: Proven experience in developing and supporting hybrid on-premise and cloud architectures, especially with Microsoft Azure.
• Infrastructure as Code: Proficiency with Terraform and other Infrastructure as Code tools and concepts.

Technical Skills

• Microsoft Azure: Advanced knowledge of Azure and its integration with on-premise systems.
• Network Infrastructure: Proficiency in Cisco technologies.
• Virtualisation and Storage: Experience with virtualisation technologies, storage platforms, and cloud computing.
• IT Security: Strong knowledge of IT security practices and tools.
• Configuration as Code: Proven experience with Infrastructure as Code and Configuration as Code tools and concepts.

Preferred Experience and Knowledge

• Operating Systems: Windows Server and Linux Ubuntu.
• Cloud Platforms: Microsoft Azure.
• Virtualisation: VMware.
• Storage Solutions: Pure Storage and Cohesity.
• Networking: Cisco networking and Brocade.
• Virtualisation and Application Delivery: Citrix.
• Containerisation: Kubernetes.
• Automation: Terraform and Ansible.
