Job summary

Trust in SODA, in partnership with a leading tech consultancy, seeks a Managing & Lead Platform Engineer for a major UK Govt project. You will lead scale, optimisation and support of a Kubernetes-based platform operating across multiple regions with hundreds of pods and thousands of nodes.

The role emphasizes multi-cloud (AWS/GCP/Azure), IaC (Terraform/Ansible), CI/CD (GitOps, Jenkins, GitHub Actions) and strong leadership. Hybrid working available with travel to client sites.

Qualifications

• Experience with large-scale Kubernetes environments.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Proficient in IaC (Terraform, Ansible).
• Strong CI/CD experience (GitOps, Github Actions, Jenkins).
• Observability tooling experience (OTel, Dynatrace, Grafana).
• Strong Linux administration (RedHat, Ubuntu, Debian).
• Leadership / line management experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a platform engineering team on a multi-year DevOps transformation.
• Scale and optimise Kubernetes and cloud infrastructure for government project.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to improve CX and reduce costs.

I am partnered with one of the world’s top tech consultancies who are spearheading a multi-year DevOps transformation at a top Govt department.

The project aims to completely revolutionise the way the UK Government operates online and will create numerous public benefits including cutting waiting times, vastly improved CX and cost savings in the millions of pounds.

They are now looking for a Managing & Lead Platform Engineer to join their team and help with the ongoing support, optimisation and scaling of this project. Their ideal candidate would be an expert within:
