Platform Engineering Manager (DevOps / SRE / Cloud) - West London - FTSE 100

Our client, a large FTSE 100 company, is seeking a Platform Engineering Manager (Cloud/DevOps/SRE) to build a team from scratch as part of a greenfield program. The role involves managing DevOps Engineers embedded within various teams and playing a key part in defining DevOps strategy, procedures, and processes, with hands-on involvement where appropriate.

Overview: The company is undergoing a comprehensive agile, technology, and data/AI transformation, moving away from legacy systems to a modern tech environment utilizing API, Cloud, and Data. With over £200m invested, they are transitioning from data centers to cloud services (AWS) for the first time.

Location: West London, requiring 2 days onsite per week.

Salary: Circa £107,000 + bonus + pension + other benefits.

Responsibilities:

• Lead, mentor, and manage engineering teams including SREs, Cloud Engineers, and DevOps Engineers.
• Drive technological advancements and innovations.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and develop a strategic roadmap.
• Develop and oversee the engineering budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness and expenditure tracking.
• Utilize technologies such as AWS, Terraform, CI/CD (GitHub Actions), Python, Java, Kafka, Kinesis, and Microservices.
