Job summary

Simpro Group (incorporating BigChange) seeks a Platform Engineer and SQL Server SME to own database strategy and scalable platform automation. You will drive DR readiness, upgrades, and performance tuning while collaborating with development teams to streamline CI/CD pipelines.

Ideal candidates bring 3+ years in DBRE/platform roles, strong SQL Server expertise, and AWS familiarity. This is an in-office Leeds role with opportunity for growth across product lines.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in platform engineering or DBRE roles.
• Deep knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server architecture and high availability.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred).

Responsibilities

• Own SQL Server design, upgrades, DR strategies, and lifecycle.
• Maintain platform availability and automate deployments via CI/CD.
• Provide performance tuning and index optimization guidance.
• Develop automation scripts in T-SQL, PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
• Manage security, RBAC, and change control across DB and platform.
